Aichi Daihatsu Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), a Malaysian government agency, on September 27, 2024. Through this partnership, both parties have agreed to launch a new joint project in Malaysia to train and develop skilled automotive technicians.
On June 30, 2025, the first batch of 14 trainees began their 20-week technical training and on-the-job training (OJT) program conducted directly in Malaysia. Experienced technical and headquarters staff from Aichi Daihatsu have been dispatched as instructors to provide hands-on guidance. After completing the training program, the trainees will undergo a six-month Japanese language course in Malaysia, and are scheduled to begin working at Aichi Daihatsu in September 2026.
For the second batch, interviews were conducted in September 2025, and 12 students were selected. The second batch is scheduled to begin their training and OJT on January 5, 2026.
Aichi Daihatsu plans to continue recruiting new trainees every six months to develop and nurture highly skilled automotive technicians on an ongoing basis. In the future, the company also aims to introduce graduates to other Daihatsu dealers and sales partners across Japan, contributing to alleviating the shortage of skilled service technicians throughout the Daihatsu Group.
